The Home Loan Connexion History

Home Loan Connexion was established in January 2001. It was obvious at that time that while “aggregators” served an important purpose, they only went so far in assisting Brokers in starting and growing a Mortgage Broking business. So founders Mark Harris and Ian Cain decided to create a business that was all about helping Mortgage Brokers start and grow a business. Traditional aggregators are mostly only information and commission suppliers.
Home Loan Connexion has been called a sub-aggregator but we prefer to be called retail-aggregators. That is, we’re all about assisting our business partners (Mortgage Brokers) in growing their own businesses. So, whether you are a single operator, or have a team, we work with you to make your business better than it is already. We believe in focusing on working smarter rather than harder. We help our Brokers with creating and or improving referrer and client relationships. Home Loan Connexion quickly became Australian Finance Group’s (AFG) largest introducer of business nationally. So the proof of our Brokers’ success is evidenced in our own success.

Q: If AFG is the “aggregator” what will my commissions be?
A: We always believed that to attract and retain the very best Brokers we would have to match what AFG pays. Our people get paid the same as they would if they went direct. However we value-add in so many areas such as business coaching.

Q: I’m concerned about whether my current aggregator will “last the distance” How safe is Home Loan Connexion?
A: Both Home Loan Connexion and AFG have no debt. So that’s about as safe a situation as you can have. Also because AFG is the largest aggregator in Australia there are many advantages in economies of scale.

Q: I’m happy enough with my current volumes but I would like to increase them and have loan writers working for me?
A: Home Loan Connexion already has many Brokers with their own staff and offices. All of these started as single operators. We will help you increase your volumes so that you have surplus leads to employ extra loan writers.

Q: Do I have to trade under the Home Loan Connexion brand?
A: Not at all. Many of our people do but if you already have your own brand then why fix what isn’t broken
